Looking to become a part of the winner’s circle? Rachel Krider, a successful personal development life coach, shares her four keys to success in this video here. A more detailed version of the transcript is below.

Key #1: Take a stand for others to rise above their adversity.

If you have an employee who is struggling in your business and is thinking about throwing in the towel, take charge by asking to have a private phone conversation with them to lift their spirits. Calmly talk to your employee on the phone and be empathetic about how their results aren’t what they were aiming for. In this example, I was at one point in the same position as this employee was in, so it was easy for me to relate. You can see a snippet of a phone conversation I had with an employee below.

You know, I completely understand and appreciate what it’s like to try to have not have achieved your goals up to this point. But one thing I can tell you with absolute certainty is that you can achieve whatever it is that’s in your heart so long as you stay committed to your vision.

Remember that they must want this success more than you do, so don’t pressure them to stay with the business if they don’t feel like it’s not right for them.

Key #2 – Be fully engaged in your personal development.

As a leader, it’s important that you’re still staying in touch with your employees. After all, you can’t expect your employees to improve their skills unless you’re continuing to refine your own as well! Even when life gets busy, make sure you set aside time to keep reading and learning about personal development. I have an example of my favorite books here.

Key #3 – Spend at least 10 hours a week working your business.

Whether you’re getting your kids ready for school in the morning, relaxing outside after dinner, or traveling across the globe with free wi-fi, it’s still important that you set aside time throughout the week to grow your business. Not only is it important to maintain the relationships that you already have, but you also need to continue finding new prospects to grow your business. There can be many distractions, so stay on purpose!

Key #4 – Get out and have fun.

Don’t forget to take advantage of the freedom this business affords! Treat yourself and your family by taking a weekday trip with your kids to avoid the crowds, volunteer as a chaperone on a field trip, or have some “me” time by visiting a spa. This business allows you so much freedom, so take advantage of it when you can!
