RACHEL

I started in business around 15 years ago. The first time failed, and that was the first 5 years of my home business career. From there, I landed an opportunity in personal development and that’s where I managed to create financial success the second time around in business.

The first 5 years was a blessing because it felt like I failed my way to success. I learned that if things aren’t quite at the level that you desire to not give up. I continued to pursue my dream because ultimately I came out other side, just like many others before me.

It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve been working from home for all of that time. This has been an unbelievable journey and I wouldn’t change a thing.

So you were at the bare bones when you first started. Like most people when they start a business, you know they haven’t got a whole pile of money in the bank and they’re trying to change their financial situation. I was the same, most people would know that we were in over seven figures worth of debt. I would bawl at the end of each month running my other business because I didn’t have the money to pay the bills. So how do you go from being distraught about not having any money to creating success in seven months?

RACHEL

I was indeed on the bare bones. I was in $50,000 dollars of credit card debt and I made poor decisions with my business. I lost my house and my car. That’s when I decided to go into business the second time around. Within seven months, I found myself making $100,000.

So your question is: How do you go from struggling financially to all of a sudden creating success?

A big part of it came from managing my emotional state. I was having sleepless nights wondering how all of these bills were going to get paid. But I had this dream in and this vision that I was going to create success as an entrepreneur. In order to make that leap, I had to compartmentalize the debt that I created and actually focus on the outcome. I focused on what I wanted to create in my future as opposed to being so absorbed with all the debt.

My personal development studies told me if I kept focusing on all of the gloom, I was just going to create more of that. So it was a matter of “okay, this my reality right now, let me put that over there, stop thinking about it, and let me focus on this fantastic future that I’m actually in the process of creating.”
